Hots greatest failure is Arthas.

I wonder if they will ever show us their work on this and also on the new hero they never released, that would be cool

All I have right now is an incomplete set of internal patch notes for the Arthas Rework, I'll poke around and see if I can find a more complete one. IIRC, we had spent about 2-3 months iterating on ideas and were settling down to a near final design.

Eh, well, it was a project error to rely so much on a big rework to fix Arthas. They could've done a fairly simple adjustment within 1-2 weeks to make him a lot better.

That was a persistent problem with Hots development: heroes would have a clear shortcoming, but the developers refused to do anything but small number tweaks unless years passed and they did a major rework. Almost never willing to grab a hero and do one single big change.

Arthas was one of the oldest, "crustiest" designs in the entire game. He needed a lot more love than just a few number tweaks.
