The chests generate the day you can open it as the day after you opened the gift FOR SOME FRIGGIN REASON (so we got to open our xmas gifts the day after xmas). I imagine you opened this one earlier today. No clue if it'll still work as I'm too new to have any experience with that.

Thank you for flagging this issue. I'm going to pass this up to our development team for a closer look. If it does expire next year on January 4, then we need to update the verbiage. If this was meant to expire on January 4, 2023, then we need to make changes to this system to ensure players don't receive items they don't have the ability to use. I'll update this thread with any new information I receive. Thank you for your patience.
