Tl:dr: False flagging bad, fix now

Recently, a user who many of you know as HanaSong was falsely flagged and silenced (for 1000 years, that’s absurd!) over a joke…
I would post a link, but a thread explaining it also got false flagged and taken down
And now, people who are defending Hana are getting false flagged as well (This will probably be flagged as well)

This needs to stop, its getting out of hand…… Obvious Bait threads get left alone, but as soon as someone makes a joke, its like they are the enemy of the world

And….come one, silencing someone just for a joke? What exactly is the reason for that

Here is my idea to fix this (So, this is My opinion):

Part one: Bring back the dislike system…but have no affect on the post itself, and hide the # of dislikes, this is just to soak up most of the false flaggers who just flag for disliking something (Make it also hide the post/reply for the person who disliked only)

Part two: Update the Coc (Code of conduct), and make it more defined. Make False flagging an offence that is punishable (But a little lenient, since one person might find something offensive, but others might not). For example, No flagging for X time. And also put a warning like “flagging something that isn’t and offence is an punishable offence)

Part 3: Reduce the max amount of time silenced to 1 month. There really is no need for a 1000 year silence. And only punish over a month for severe offenders, not repeat offenders. IF it become to severe, then ban….and if the first offence is super severe, ban as well

Part 4: Rework the flag system. First, don’t make the post become hidden, just put a flag icon in the title or something. Then…rework the automatic system, if it detects a lot of flags for a post (only inappropriate flags) Then its puts a warning when you click the topic. You can then click: ‘Proceed, go back, or a check mark to not see it again’ for that topic only. Then, have the review process be more in depth, have more than 1 mod look at the post (Maybe like 5 per post, get more mods if you need to), if the majority agree with the flag, action is taken, if majority agree, the flag is overturned, the post can no longer be flagged for 24 hours, and the flaggers are warned, or actions are taken against them

Part 5(Optional): If they are unsure, put it in in the new community decides tab! It pops up for anyone who is trust lvl 3 (or 2+) to the right of the search icon, and when they post a flag review, the tab gets a number (Like when you get a notification next to you profile pic)…there the voting is much the same, ‘Remove the post? Yes or no’, they see the post and anonymously decide, no one sees the total numbers until after the voting, which will probably last about an hour

Whatever happens, and even if this isnt the best idea….Change needs to come. Stand with me Comrades! Glory to Russia Fight for out fallen friends who fell victim to this false flagging scandal! Justice for HanaSong!
