In case anyone else encounters something similar though, please don't hesitate to file an appeal ticket.
Even if the ticket wait time turns out to be longer than the penalty, it's worth it to have a penalty reviewed. Account penalties stack, meaning future penalties will increase based on how many past penalties there have been. If a penalty is found to be incorrect and gets overturned then it won't be considered or impact future penalties from that same category.
