Starcraft remastered on new MacBook M1
Just got my new MacBook Pro M1 and the installation works fine but the game doesn’t start. It crashes instantly. Any chance for an update in the future? The same goes for Warcraft 3 by the way…
There does seem to be some issues with the new Macs that are being investigated and worked on, however I did find this post from our Mac forums for SC2 (which should also apply to SC:RE and WC3:RE for now): https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/sc2/t/starcraft-2-system-hangs-on-m1-apple-silicon-macs/18818
So you need to find the WC3:Reforged and SC:Remastered settings in your Library and see if adjusting this line works.
FuenteThere might be something else we can try. If you set Starcraft to start with Rosetta: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211861
It might work with that.
FuenteNo news (other than what I previously posted), though the discussion is still also happening on the US forums for Mac Users: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/sc2/c/mac-technical-support/16
You can also post there and add your voices to the thread on the front page.
FuenteSorry to hear that you’ve lost your character, deep1977.
While there is indeed a confirmation message asking you if you want to delete your character, we’ve seen the feedback (especially concerning the icon being generally used to close windows).
Good luck with your next hero though, hope that you get some good loot!
FuenteI don’t believe that Customer Support has ever had the ability to restore characters in Diablo II, however that is something that was/is possible in World of Warcraft (and the feature was later added in game by the developers to allow players to restore their characters without going through a ticket).
FuenteQuick update in case anybody missed it, it should now be much harder to delete a character by mistake: Diablo II: Resurrected | 10.12 - PC & Console Patch Notes
The character deletion icon was changed, and you now need to press and hold the confirmation button for 5 seconds.
FuenteHello Dennis,
This problem should be solved upgrading to Monterey. If despite the upgrade, you’re still crashing, please let us know.
